Carlitos - Pure Puerto Rican Stallion
Foaled in Puerto Rico in 1960

Carlitos was a kind, spirited horse who loved to be taken for rides. All you had to do was go into his paddock and hold up the halter. He would run over and try to put his head into it.
About the only thing better than going on a ride was having a crowd to entertain. "Charlie," as he was known by the family, loved to perform. In perfect four-beat gait his legs would pump like pistons as John floated around the arena and the crowd applauded.
Carlitos sired a high percentage of fillies, including the mare Rincon LaCE who was named to the Paso Fino Horse Association's Top Ten Dam list in 1987.

Bacardi and Compasillo - Outstanding Stallions Sired by Carlitos

Bacardi, foaled in 1965, was one of the first foals sired by Carlitos while the young stallion was in Texas. A stunning dark bay - almost black, Bacardi had the thick, wavy full mane and tail often associated with the Paso Fino bloodlines from Puerto Rico.
(This photo was snapped as he was swatting at a fly so his tail looks short.)
Compasillo, foaled in 1976, was one of the very last foals sired by Carlitos. Standing close to 15 hands he was taller than the typical Paso Fino. His gait was smooth and his temperment was absolutely wonderful.
Tall and muscular, Compasillo made many owners of stock-type horses turn their heads and take note of this handsome stallion.
Compasillo sired many wonderful Pasos during his too short 11 year life-time.
